The enhanced interior also features impressive infotainment specifications in terms of technology such as a 12.3 inch TFT display. To ensure that the vehicle sports a true classy look and feel, Volkswagen has made sure the leather used for the seats and other car furnishing materials are of high quality.


The 2016 VW Passat will boast of engine power that might vary from 118 horse power to 276 horsepower. The predecessor runs on a 2.5 liter engine while the new version will use a turbocharged 1.8 liter engine.Additionally, 2016 Volkswagen TDI model will have a seven speed DSG transmission.The vehicle is also expected to carry another variation for the engine option that will be a V6 3.6 liter engine that can generate up to 280 horsepower.

    I just bought a 2016 PASSAT SEL Premium…but before I did that, I made sure as best I could to a long and happy ending with this car. I keep my cars 15-20 years.
    REAL data supports this car in many good ways.

    This turbo engine is one of the few that seems to deliver the goods on mileage and decent performance. This is road car, not a track car, and power is equal to that task. The PASSAT is QUIET and composed so I’m lost as to all the whining about it not being a SLOT car. The elegant and wonderfully integrated styling is a HUGE relief from the garish catfish grill cars currently popular. Leave this car alone to at least be the standout on conservative and timeless (like my 1999 E320) styling.

    Not to be lost is the excellent packaging and real room and nice outward sight-lines in this car. Another rare feature in the mid (supposed to be mid) sized segment. Look at the car EVERYWHERE and I do mean everywhere. Undercarriage, engine bay, inside the glove box all the places you should not be looking, are superbly fit and matched mechanically.

    Steering is light, but still communicative. The brake pedal has a “soft” take-up and then firms up solidly with linear braking with more pressure. None of that to the floor pedal feeling. Ride is firm, but never harsh and road textures are communicated, but not transmitted to you. Nice. The engine is simply divine for a four cylinder. Smooth, with and eager to rev feeling, and never with that “struggling” sound track.

    For the money spent this is a great car…so far. Yes, ten years from now I want to say the same thing. Thousands of these things on the road with a four year chassis and eight year engine cycle are good trends for bugginess eradication. Up front this car hits all the major check boxes in a big way.
