2016 Lincoln MKC is a brand new entry into the company’s premium compact crossover segment. The MKC is made on Ford Global C platform, and with its elegant interior and exterior containing split-wing grille it will be an eye catcher for the SUV lovers. This giant American prestige car maker, first presented MKC concept in 2013 NAIAS in Detroit and later in 2013 LA Auto Show. This car is a successor of 2015 Lincoln MKC with makeover in interiors and engines. The 2015 MKC is gave a huge a start in the company’s production with 13,000 units sold in the year 2014, the company hopes the 2016 Lincoln MKC will cross 20,000 figure.
2016 Lincoln MKC: Redesign Exterior and Interior
2016 Lincoln MKC poses little change in the exterior than its predecessor and it has the same Lincoln DNA design with authentic split-wing grille design. It has a wheelbase of 105.9 inches with an overall length of 179.2 inches and has a height of 65.2 inches. The sharp, distinctive styling, spacious cabin and piercing HID headlamps make it a winner by looks. It comes in three versions: Premiere, Select and Reserve. The premiere version comes with Xenon front headlights, LED equipped taillights, 18 inch textured alloy wheels with P235/50R18 tires and power-folding side mirrors. Power lift gate and panoramic sunroof comes with Reserve level. It has different color variant like Black velvet metallic, Midnight sapphire metallic, Ingot silver metallic, chrome flame premium metallic and other premium colors.
It comes with a distinctive Lincoln interior with wooden details in dashboard, leather upholstery, heated seats for all five passengers and 8-way powered front seats. It is loaded with modern technologies including SYNC 3 entertainment system, 8-inch touch screen, satellite navigation system, Bluetooth, 14 speakers with THX-II surround audio system, dual-zone automatic weather control and keyless access with push-start engine. It also has many advanced safety features like park-out assist technology, accident warning equipped with brake support, blind spot warning and Lane-Keeping Systems.
2016 Lincoln MKC: Engine and Fuel Economy
2016 Lincoln MKC is equipped with 2.0 liter and 2.3 liter engines EcoBoost engines. The 2.0 liter engines is turbocharged and directed injected engine that exhibits 240 hp at 5500 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm. It has both FWD and AWD version. The 2.3 liter engine has three features such as turbocharger, direct injection and Ti-VCT engine. This engine produces whooping power of 285 hp at 5500 rpm and 305 lb-ft of torque at 2750 rpm. The engines are equipped with 4 cycled cylinders with 16 number valves with dual overhead cam. The compression ratio is 9.3 with Bore x Stroke is 3.44 x 3.27.
Both the engines of 2016 Lincoln MKC have a 6-speed shift able automatic transmission with all wheel drive feature. The company provides both FWD and AWD with strut and multi link suspension type. The 2016 Lincoln MKC has a pretty good EPA rating with a mileage of 20 mpg in city, 29 mpg in highway with an average of 23 mpg combining both city and highway.
2016 Lincoln MKC: Release Date and Price
Just like the 2015 model, 2016 Lincoln MKC will be offered in three packages. The premiere model will cost around 34 000 $, Select model will cost around 36 500 $ and the Reserve model which is the top version will cost more than 39 100 $. The company is hoping to release the car at the beginning of 2016.
