2016 Ford Flex was released in June 2008 initially as a minivan successor model but it later became one of the most popular names in the crossover utility vehicle category in the United States. It was introduced as a replacement model for very popular minivan models – Ford Freestar and Ford Taurus X Freestyle. According to company officials, its price is expected to range from $ 29 000 – $ 48 000 with increasing value for higher trims. Major competitors in the crossover utility vehicles category include several premium models such as Honda Pilot, Chevrolet Traverse, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX-9 and GMC Acadia.
