2016 Chevy Traverse release date, changes, ltz
Chevrolet Traverse is a highly successful full-size SUV that has been recorded to sell 100,000 units in North America alone. Not very long ago, GM unveiled their new addition to the luxury crossover SUV segment going by the name of 2016 Chevy Traverse. This vehicle will not be a new model, but a slightly refreshed version of its old model and will feature some changes in its outer visuals, interior decor along with superior performance and better fuel efficiency. Upon release, 2016 Chevy Traverse will compete with models like Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia.
2016 Chevy Traverse: Redesign Exterior and Interior
The car makers have decided not to mess with their tried and tested formula and introduce a completely reworked model to the public. The 2016 Chevy Traverse will only sport minor refreshments to its exterior in the form of improved head and taillights, slightly modified grille design and a new platform known as the Lambda. Even though we were harbouring hope of having a completely reworked design with more aggressive features, it is not to happen anytime soon. Due to its new platform, this car will lose some amount of weight, and this will likely result in lower fuel consumption, which is a win-win for everyone.
Interior of 2016 Chevy Traverse will have more cabin space owing to reworked seating arrangements and will hold seven passengers with utmost ease. If the need arises to store a good extra bit of cargo, there is an option to remove the back seats temporarily and make further room for carrying of materials. Seat covers will be available in cloth and leather variants. Needless to say, leather covers will increase the car’s luxury quotient and lend a fair extra bit of comfort to its seats.
Additionally, there will be a 6.5 inch touchscreen centre console alongside a great audio system, rear parking sensors, Navigation, safety airbags and a host of couple other infotainment and safety features. Chevrolet is not a company that will make compromises when it comes to providing quality features to their customers.
2016 Chevy Traverse: Engine Specs
It is very likely that the automakers will carry over the previously found engines into the upcoming 2016 Chevy Traverse. The engines might remain same, but we are expecting improvements in both performance and fuel economy. This SUV will be equipped with 3.6 litres V6 inline-4 engine that will be able to produce 288 hp and 270 pound-feet torque. The all-wheel drive variant will deliver a maximum of 280 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. Regardless, this engine will be mated to a 6-speed auto transmission system. Fuel consumption rates are not yet available, but we expect this car to be slightly more fuel efficient than its predecessor.
2016 Chevy Traverse: Release Date and Price
Price of 2016 Chevy Traverse will not increase dramatically and is expected to be somewhere around $ 32 000 for the base model. There have not been any confirmations yet regarding its release date, but we are expecting it to roll out in the later part of 2015 or early 2016.
