2015 Volkswagen Passat comes with emission reducing system and add-ons for advanced safety. It is a mid-size sedan with seats for five people. There is also a wagon version of the car.

Exterior design and outlook:

2015 Passat is based on MQB architecture which helps to reduce weight of the car. This new model is expected to be 187 pounds lighter in weight than its outgoing model. Front face and shoulders have been redesigned with stylish outlook and fine creases. Xenon headlights of the previous model have been replaced with halogens. The tail-light LED array changes its lighting signature to vertical from horizontal whenever the car is slowed or brakes are applied. Wide twin tailpipes replaces the one-sided tailpipe, integrated into the bumper.

Interior space and design:

2015 Volkswagen Passat has an impressive interior. Cabin is a bit smaller than the earlier versions of the car. However, interior space is not much compromised due to its wide wheel base. It is also equipped with loads of electronic gadgets and infotainment options. There is a rear entertainment system. Both the sedan and wagon versions come with a good luggage space. An Active Information Display is added to make the infotainment quotient of the car high.

2015 Volkswagen Passat comes with a string of features. A few of these include Emergency Assist, Trailer Assist, automatic parking, a 360-degree overhead rotational camera, automatic cruise control and pedestrian detection. A connectivity system allows you to see the fuel prices in real time on your screen. Added to these there is a head-up display and a digital screen-based instrumentation.

Engine and powertrains:

The powertrain of 2015 Volkswagen Passat is impressive with 2.0 liter diesel engine that produces 240 horsepower. There is option for a 2.0 liter TSI engine that generates 280 horsepower. Another plug-in hybrid drivetrain makes use of a gasoline engine of 154 horsepower and 107-electric pony motor is also available.

A start-stop regenerative braking system helps to deliver upto 276 horsepower. With this new powertrain, 2015 Volkswagen Passat reduces the CO2 consumption by 20 percent. A new EA288 TDI clean diesel is something which 2015 Volkswagen Passat has to offer. However, transmission and fuel economy is yet unknown.

2015 Volkswagen Passat is expected to be available in the market by July 2014. The car is expected to cost about $35,000. The price for the wagon version is supposed to be around $36,600.
